Sustainable and Eco-Friendly: We’ve engineered our mulching film out of jute, a plant-based material that has an incredibly short growth cycle. This is the most environmentally responsible solution to traditional plastic mulching films, as we’ve designed them to be fully biodegradable and compostable.

Enhanced Crop Growth: The team at It’s Not Plastic has also designed this mulching film to promote better crop growth. The film conserves soil moisture and suppresses weeds, therefore reducing the need for harmful chemical pesticides to seep into our soil and groundwater.

Water Conservation: We’ve engineered this mulching film to retain soil moisture as a way to conserve water, making it ideal for sustainable farming practices.

Biodegradability and Compostability: Unlike our current widespread plastic films that can persist in the environment for hundreds of years, our zero-plastic mulching film degrades naturally in soil within 1 to 6 months. It also dissolves in water within an hour, though not via rain or irrigation, leaving no harmful microplastics. Our jute-based mulching film is PP (Polypropylene), PE (Polyethylene), PU (Polyurethane) and PBAT (Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate) free.

Soil Enrichment: As it decomposes, the jute fibres in the mulching film acts as a fertiliser, enriching the soil with valuable nutrients.
